Located near the ancient ruins of Egypt’s Fifth Dynasty pyramids, this villa was conceived by its owner—an architect deeply influenced by Hassan Fathy and his revival of Egypt’s historic architectural traditions. Drawing from this vision, Eklego’s interiors reinterpret vernacular architecture through a contemporary lens, creating a living experience that feels both culturally grounded and intimately connected to its oasis-like surroundings.
A glass-enclosed conservatory frames views of the desert ruins, while expansive double-height windows maximize natural light and panoramic vistas, bringing a sense of openness and tranquility into the home. Throughout the interiors, handcrafted details in stucco, fabric, stone, metal, and wood—created by local artisans—are layered with contemporary Egyptian artworks to shape a timeless identity rooted in heritage, craftsmanship, and place.
